In September 2014, Eric Schmidt (ex-CEO of Google, current Executive Chairman, Alphabet), Jonathan Rosenberg (ex-head of products at Google; current advisor to the CEO, Alphabet), and Alan Eagle (director of executive communications at Google) published a book titled “How Google Works”. This book provides insights into functioning of Google. But more than describing how things work at Google, the authors have attempted to provide guidance on how to manage new-age companies that would employ “smart creatives”. The advice is given for almost all aspects of business, starting from culture to strategy to decisions to innovation.
Not exactly the summary but somewhat the essence of this book is available in the web article on “How Google Works: 50 Ideas“. Written by the authors of the book, this article can give an inside look at the authors’ 50 ideas that inspired the book. A must-read for every business manager!
