“The Truth About Employee Engagement” is a book containing a fable and theory. It provides a story of a CEO, who turns around three businesses, a restaurant being one of them. During this journey, he develops a model of three signs of a miserable job. The model is simple; the three signs are anonymity, irrelevance and immeasurement. The author, Patrick Lencioni, has given detailed description of this model after the fable. A good book to read for every employee and employer!
In case, you are too busy to read this book then you can visit its web site. This site provides 3-page summary article, explaining the model.

If you are looking for a mobile app that provides bite-sized lessons for learning about digital marketing then you will find Google Primer app very useful. This app initially had lessons only on digital marketing but has added many new lessons on topics such as business planning, selling, and brand building.
This app is absolutely free to use. Though we have not read all lessons, whatever lessons we have read, we found them of high quality. The same content is not available on any web site. It’s available only in the form of mobile app. And yes, the lessons are not in the form of long articles but rather in the form of mini-cards, which you see one after another.
As the name suggests, the learning content is at the beginner level and does not have in-depth coverage of any topic. So it’s good to use if you need an introductory view of topics such as email marketing, analytics, and brand building.

Mindfulness has become one of the most popular ways to mitigate the stress at workplace and home. While there are so many books, articles and sites telling us what is mindfulness and how it works, we would recommend this 10-minute video to get started with mindfulness. Obviously there are more things to know but this video can be a good starting point if you are not sure what is mindfulness and how it can help.
BTW this is a TED talk recorded in year 2012 and has got more than 9 million views. It’s delivered by Mr. Andy Puddicombe, who has written three books on mindfulness and has co-founded an online healthcare company called Headspace.

The first time we heard the term, Digital Thread, we were not sure what it could mean. Later we learnt that it is a new manufacturing approach that uses digital technologies throughout the life cycle of the manufactured goods. But we were very delighted to watch a video series that explained this concept so well. This video series consists of 10 videos of duration ranging from 3 minutes to 8 minutes. It took us almost an hour to watch the videos and read the accompanying text.
This video series is provided by MIT Sloan Management Review and Deloitte Insights. We liked its engaging storyboard supported by superb video shoot. You too may like. Do share your feedback.

Have you heard the term, blended learning or flipped classroom? It’s a new trend in education and some see it as a future of education. While we too see it as future of education, let us not get into that discussion now. Instead, let us share a 6-minute video that neatly explains the idea of blended learning (and flipped classroom). We would like to hear your opinion on whether this idea makes sense and will it be the future of education. Please write to us!
