Vidyarjan means learning and Patrika means magazine. This magazine informs you about the learning resources that you would like to access in current month.

  1. This person does not exist! Sounds strange? Just visit the page, and get to know how much the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has progressed. This site shows a photograph of a person, which is imaginatively generated by the Generative Adversarial Network (GAN). GAN is a class of machine learning frameworks designed by Ian Goodfellow and his colleagues in June 2014. A GAN trained on photographs can generate new photographs that look at least superficially authentic to human observers, having many realistic characteristics. As you visit this site, refresh it as many times as you wish to see a completely new faces of persons who do not exist! The site also features some links to web sites and YouTube videos that will help you learn more about GAN and the related techniques.
  2. Increasing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in business has sparked a new debate about loss of jobs. Yes, the intelligent machines will more effectively perform some jobs that are currently being performed by humans. At the same time, adoption of AI will generate new kinds of jobs. Instead of focusing on replacing humans with machines with obvious cost advantage, companies should instead focus on how machines and humans can work together to generate more value. In an article published in Harvard Business Review (HBR), two Accenture executives, H. James Wilson and Paul Daugherty advise companies to embrace collaborative intelligence. According to them, humans will need to perform three crucial roles: train machines to perform certain tasks; explain the outcomes of those tasks; and sustain the responsible use of machines.   3. An Executive Education Complex was recently inaugurated at my Alma mater, SJM SOM, IIT Bombay. During this event, Prof. Rohan Chinchwadkar, Assistant Professor of Finance at SJMSOM delivered an engaging talk on the topic of digital economy. He delved into how technology disruption is impacting us as a voter or as a consumer and how philosophy & ethics have become more important than ever.
